HMG The Company app. Last updated October 17, 2026.

Who we are
HMG The Company is a Los Angeles-based dance company. This app is for company members, members of our HMG in Training program, former members, people auditioning, and visitors who sign up for classes or buy merchandise. Questions or requests: hmgcompanyofficial@gmail.com.

What we collect
Account information: your name, email address and password (the password is handled by our sign-in provider and is never visible to us), and your role (for example Company Member, Training Member or Applicant).

Things you choose to add: audition videos and notes, chat and forum messages, rehearsal attendance and notes, form answers, costume measurements, your birthday and a profile photo if you add them (used for birthday messages and to check project age limits), waiver check-offs, and dues records.

Shop and class sign-ups: if you order merchandise or sign up for a class, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, what you ordered or signed up for, and any note you add. If you choose shipping for a merchandise order, we also collect the shipping address you enter, and we may add a tracking number. Pickup orders need no address. You do not need an account to do this.

Device information: if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send them to your phone (for example rehearsal and class reminders, schedule changes, and weekly summaries for admins). We save some schedule and content on your phone so it can be viewed offline. We also send a quiet nightly notification that has no message; it only lets your phone refresh its schedule.

Location: only to notice that you have arrived at a rehearsal. If you tap "I'm here", the app compares your phone's location with the rehearsal address. If you are an HMG the Company or HMG Squared member and turn on Automatic Check-in, you also allow location "Always", so your phone can notice that you have arrived even when the app is closed. To do this your phone watches the addresses of upcoming rehearsals (about two weeks ahead) and, when you arrive, we record only the time you arrived and whether it came from the button or from automatic check-in. Your location itself, where you go and your movements are not stored, shared or tracked. HMG admins can see only whether your phone's location setting allows automatic check-in (for example Always, Only while using, or Off), never where you are. You can turn Automatic Check-in off in More, or change location in iPhone Settings, at any time.

Season requirements: for HMG the Company members, we record which projects, performances, visuals and shows you completed in a season. Checking in to a rehearsal for a project can add that credit automatically, and HMG admins can add or correct credits.

Attendance answers and lateness: when you tell us you will be late, have to leave early or can't come, we record your answer, any note you add, and when you told us. A late reported far enough ahead (at least 2 hours by default, which HMG can change) is marked Excused. For HMG in Training, a parent can send the same answer and note for their child. These answers can send a notification to HMG admins.

Profile details: if you add them, your bio, hometown, dance background, fun fact, Instagram name, age or birthday (month and day only) and the season you joined the company are visible to other company members. A profile is optional.

Other records HMG keeps: admin notes when your account is approved or declined, whether an admin has paused your posting, and an activity log of changes admins make in the app (who changed what, and when). HMG admins can see which of your notification and location settings are on, so they can help you fix them.

We do not collect your contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app has no advertising or third-party analytics.

Photos, camera and calendar
The app asks for access to your photo library only when you choose a video or image to upload, and to your microphone only when you record video. It can add rehearsals and shows to your calendar, but only writes events you ask it to add. It never reads your calendar.

How we use it
To run the company and its programs: schedule rehearsals, classes and shows; let members and staff communicate; review auditions; keep rehearsal videos and music available to the right people; track attendance, dues and paperwork; process merchandise orders and class sign-ups; and send notifications you have allowed. We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated to HMG. We also keep simple activity records inside the app: which forum posts you open and which rehearsal videos you watch (and how much of them), so directors can see who has seen important posts and who has watched the videos assigned for a piece. Only HMG admins can see these records.

Who can see it
The company and the training program are kept separate. Company members see only company content, and Training members see only Training content. Within a program, members can see that program's chats, forum and schedule. Piece and group chats are visible to the people in that piece or group and to HMG admins. Your attendance, check-in times, season requirement progress, dues, measurements and checklist answers are visible to you and HMG admins only. To help fix a problem, the HMG owner can open the app as a member, and each time is recorded in the activity log. Audition videos and notes are visible to HMG admins only. Audition combo videos and the home page (classes, shows, shop) can be viewed by anyone. Merchandise orders and class sign-ups are visible to HMG admins only. Former members can open only the Company Archive and the photo albums. Likes on forum posts are visible to the people who can see that post. HMG admins can also see who liked or opened a forum post and who has watched a rehearsal video.

Payments
Card payments for merchandise and class sign-ups are handled by Stripe, a payment processor. When you choose to pay by card, you enter your card details on Stripe's secure page, not in our app. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe tells us whether the payment succeeded, and Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to that payment. We share your name, email, and the amount and items with Stripe to process the payment.

Where it is stored and who helps us
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and file-storage provider, in the United States. Push notifications are delivered through Apple. These providers process data on our behalf so the app can work. Information is encrypted while it travels between your phone and our servers. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Face ID
Face ID and your passcode are handled entirely by your iPhone. HMG never receives or stores your face data. You can also turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app. If you lose your password, an HMG admin can email you a reset link, and if you lose your phone the HMG owner can remove two-factor so you can set it up again.

Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account any time in More > Account & Security > Delete My Account. That removes your profile, messages, forum posts, attendance, dues, form answers and audition videos right away. When an HMG admin deletes something else (for example a rehearsal, video or document), it is kept in a private Recently Deleted area that only admins can see, and it is permanently erased after 30 days. We may keep merchandise order and class sign-up records for business and tax purposes; email us to have those removed too. You can also email us to see, correct or delete your information, and we will respond promptly. California residents have these rights under California law, and we honor them for everyone.

Children
HMG in Training is a program for young dancers, so some members may be minors. An account for a child under 13 must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who agrees to us collecting the child's name, email and any videos they upload for the program. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian's consent. Parents can email us at any time to review or delete their child's information or withdraw consent. Training members' content is never visible to the company side of the app or to the public. A parent can make a Parent PIN that children need to switch back to the parent account; it is stored in scrambled form on our server and cannot be read.

Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below and, for big changes, tell you in the app.
